Are Women Naturally Better at Raising Children, or Is That Just Sexist Nonsense?

Niall Boylan takes calls from listeners after a heated disagreement with his wife Karen on their new podcast, Don’t Call Me Darling, over his claim that women are naturally better than men at raising children and looking after the home.

Niall argues that women generally have stronger maternal instincts, are more nurturing and are naturally better suited to caring for young children and managing family life. But Karen strongly disagrees, accusing him of promoting outdated stereotypes that belong in the past.

And judging by the reaction from some listeners, she’s not the only one who thinks Niall is completely out of order!

But is there any truth to his argument? Are women instinctively better at comforting babies, juggling childcare and keeping a household running? Or have generations of traditional gender roles simply conditioned us to believe that mothers are better parents than fathers?

What about single dads and stay-at-home fathers who do an incredible job raising their children? And is it unfair to suggest that men are somehow less capable of providing the same love, care and attention?

Niall opens the phone lines for what promises to be a lively and controversial debate.

Are women naturally better at raising children and running a home, or is Niall talking complete nonsense and Karen absolutely right to challenge him?
